First, I am new to the forum and really appreciate all the board advise you regulars have posted on this thread!

My wife and I are current surfing on an old school O'Brien Shredder (precursor of the wakeboard) - it works great as a learner board, but we both want to try out a "real" board.

I came across a tread on the Tige forum where a guy starting a wakesurf instruction program demoed a bunch of boards. He really enjoyed the Crowley Wake, wakesurf boards.

Anyone here have experience with them?

Thanks!

Tommy Czeschin is the owner of Crowley Wake and also a partner in Axia Snowboards. Tommy was in the olympic's, X-Games, Grand Prix, Worlds, World Cup, Continetial Cup, Nor Am, etc...he's a amazing half pipe competitor. It's not uncommon to see him podium at any of these events.

Tommy took third at the WWSC in 2008 and second at the SoCal WSC in 2008. He knows how to ride.

Tommy has his boards built by Eric Roush of Roush Creations in Santa Cruz. Eric's website:

http://www.roushcreations.com/

Eric is using Corecell for the foam in Tommy's boards. The most common foam in skim board use is divinycell which is
basically used because it's floppy and bends easily to conform to the rocker. It's inferior to Corecell in all technicals.
Corecell is stiff and maintains a memory which translates into extra pop for those boards. Rather than just popping out a flat skimmer like the high profit boards, Eric has shaped in some bottom contours to give greater performance. Definately worth looking at the high end foam boards. I just noticed that Tommy also offers some entry level wood boards - one for $174 with fin and traction. That's hard to beat.

I had to laugh, if you can go to the blog part of the website there is a picture of Bri holding her board at the TWC, and Wakedoc is in the picture too. His man-boobs made it hard to distinguish him from one of the competitors. ).gif

I bought one before summer started... they are the perfect skim style board and you can spin forever! I tried for a 360 my second time ever using the board and it turned out to be a 720! They are perfect for shuvs, which I have not mastered ; ) and are fast in the wave. Get an Epoxy, the fins are removable and come in two sizes. Mine is small like Bri's. Go for it!
